I would suggest if you stop looking for a compatible sign
you would first look in on their personal life style and manners with their parents and siblings, it would give you a very foot hold on the truth, such as if he treats his parents with respect and love he will do the same to you, if his Friends have no respect for him then that’s what you will get so don’t zero in so much on the horoscope do some homework it has paid off in my life. My wife and i have been together for the last 22 years and have never raised our voices in anger, because we came from a good family environment, not elitist but healthy wonderful love style.

Being a cusp sign myself, Scorpio-Sagittarius cusp, I would say I agree with the answers here and say that you two should be getting along great! I wish I could find a guy that's also a cusp sign compatible with mines to see how great it could be! =) haha.
For me with friendships, some of my closest friends are also cusp signs. I think it's that we both have a little of two signs that we understand and get along so well. One friend is a Leo/Virgo and the other is a Virgo/Libra cusp.
But going with your cusp sign compatibility, I would think of it like this: your 1st is Pisces (water) and his 1st sign is Taurus (earth) AND your 2nd sign is Aries (Fire) and his Gemini (Air). Water and Earth tend to 'get' and understand each other better. While Fire and Air tend to understand each other also, and with that are highly compatible. I know I got along pretty well with, and we got each jokes and personality when working with another cusp, he's a Pisces-Aries. I also have friends who aren't cusp but one is a Pisces and his best friend is a Aries-Taurus cusp. And I have a Gemini friend who's gets along pretty well with Aries guys.
So you two should be highly compatible. If things are going well for you now, just look forward to more greatness and good times to come. =)

Can you define your use of “advanced?” And I believe people were tracking “star systems” irrespective of their beliefs on the shape of the earth. And the idea that people had to be more “advanced” to do what people do everywhere, always and by nature – notice things, watch, remember, record, even attribute the causes and results of their fears and hopes to unrelated events – is a little silly. I don't think you can say just from the sun sign. You need to look at the whole 'synastry'. This means looking for aspects between the various planets. Also look at the 7th house of the two partners. Usually you attract and are attracted to someone who has the traits of the sign on your 7th house cusp. That goes for friendships as much as romantic relationships.

Yes you do need time of birth because the moon changes signs every 2 or so days. It might not be the same moon sign at noon that is at 10pm. You also need your rising sign. When looking for compatibilty you need to compare all the charts and aspects. Its alot. You can go to adze.com I believe and type that info in for you and them and it will tell you how the signs and aspects interact with each other.

All signs are compatable. It is the person that counts. For instance my ex wife was a certain sign, and a women I used to date years ago is the same sign. We have started going out again and get along very very well, they are two very different people.
